On 14th July 2025 the jury at the Old Bailey following a four-month retrial convicted Constance Marten and Mark Gordon of the offence of gross negligence manslaughter in relation to the death of their baby. Tom Little KC was leading counsel for the prosecution. In a previous trial last year the defendants were convicted of offences of concealing the birth of a child, child cruelty and perverting the course of justice. They unsuccessfully sought to appeal those convictions earlier this year. This high-profile trial has captured the interest of the nation.
