Join us on 25th April 2024 when Edward Lamb KC will be giving a keynote talk on current topics in international children cases.
Deka Chambers is also delighted and privileged to announce that Edward will be joined by Her Honour Judge Sapnara (Central Family Court and Deputy High Court Judge) and (now recently confirmed) Dr Adrienne Barnett (Brunel University London Law School). Judge Sapnara will be speaking on minority ethnic families in the family justice system and judicial diversity.
Dr Barnett’s specialist area of research is domestic abuse and family court proceedings and parental alienation. Her current research projects also include a detailed analysis of issues within recent 1980 Hague Convention cases and we will look forward to her insights on these contemporary issues.
Edward will be talking about the interaction of domestic violence and the 1980 Hague Convention; the current thinking on habitual residence in the 1996 Hague Convention cases and getting international adoptions right.
