Jennie Oborne represented the Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police in respect of allegations of false imprisonment and battery. The Claimant alleged that police officers had chased him into a cul-de-sac before kicking him to the chest whilst he was lying on the ground. He was later found to have sustained fractured ribs and a collapsed lung. The police case was that he had obtained these injuries in an earlier altercation.
After a seven day trial, the eight person jury at the Central London County Court cleared the officers of any wrong doing.
