Irene Sriharan is specialises in Public and Human Rights work and Family proceedings. She also accepts instructions in Court of Protection matters.

Before joining the Bar, Irene worked for a Solicitor’s firm and handled a vast caseload in both Family and Immigration matters. Irene has gained a reputation for being a fearless and formidable advocate whose impressive people and legal skills aid her in being able to handle the most complex of cases, vulnerable witnesses and Judges.

After reading Theology at Kings, Irene followed her interest in socio-political issues to the TransAfrica Forum; a research, education and advocacy centre in Washington, D.C. for activism focusing on social economic and political conditions in Africa, the Caribbean, and Latin America and other parts of the African Diaspora.

Irene is a level 1 Prosecutor for the CPS Extradition Panel.

Irene has experience in both public and private proceedings relating to children.

Irene represents parents and Local Authorities and is particularly adept at fact finding hearings.

Irene also has conducted work in matrimonial finance hearings and accepts instructions from all stages of proceedings in financial remedies.

 

Irene accepts instructions in all aspects of Court of Protection work and is looking to develop her practice in this area.

Irene has a wealth of experience representing both the Secretary of State and appellants across the field of Immigration, Asylum and Human Rights.

She has appeared in the High Court on behalf of the Secretary of State, having accepted instructions from the Attorney General’s office off panel. Irene has also conducted work on behalf of the Foreign Office in various high profile Judicial Review matters.

Irene is also specialised in Business Immigration and directly represents professional clients looking to make applications under the current Global Talent Visa scheme.
