Anirudh is building a broad practice in civil and public law. His core practice areas include data protection, human rights and judicial review, police law, inquests, clinical negligence, personal injury (both domestic and cross border) and the court of protection. He is ranked as a “rising star” in the Legal 500 where he is described as “clear, knowledgeable and informative to clients. He also has a kind touch with all clients to give them reassurance and support”.

Prior to the Bar, Anirudh worked as a judicial assistant to Sir Rupert Jackson and Lady Justice Asplin, a stagiaire at the European Court of Justice. He was also appointed as a visiting tutor at the London School of Economics.
Away from the Bar, Anirudh enjoys wild swimming, badminton and baking biscuits, cakes and pastries.
Anirudh has a diverse data protection practice and information law practice. He acts for local authorities, police authorities, educational institutions, and individuals in bringing or defending claims brought under the GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018, the European Convention on Human Rights, the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations, and the common law.
As well as his court work, Anirudh advises clients on GDPR compliance, and the regulatory implications of proposed data sharing arrangements.
A claim was brought against a local authority in respect of alleged inaccuracies in social services records. Anirudh represented the local authority, and the claim was struck out.
This claim was brought alleging breach of confidence against the police in relation to the unauthorised disclosure of an informant’s identity.
This claim was brought against a local authority arising out of an alleged transfer of personal data to the United States.
Anirudh acts and advises on public law and human rights matters. He has experience of drafting and advising on judicial review proceedings (including Age Assessment reviews), and breaches of the Human Rights Act.
Anirudh is acting unled in judicial review proceedings in respect of a claim under the Criminal Injuries Compensation Scheme. Namely, whether ignorance of the scheme is a relevant factor when considering exceptional circumstances for a delay in applying.
Anirudh acted in judicial review proceedings were brought against an ombudsman alleging maladministration in interpreting the Adoption Support Services Regulations (2005).
This claim was intimated under Article 3 ECHR. It raised allegations of a failure to conduct a proper and effective investigation in relation to an allegation of rape.
Anirudh has a busy clinical negligence practice. He has acted in a variety of claims, including delayed diagnosis of cancer, fatal accident claims, failures to obtain informed consent, and dental negligence. He also has experience of claims brought under the ECHR against healthcare providers. Details of his cross-border clinical negligence experience can be found in the “travel and cross border section”.
This claim arose out of the suicide of a vulnerable patient in the care of an NHS Trust.
This claim arose out an alleged failure to properly interpret MRI images, resulting in the Claimant allegedly sustaining chronic pain in his knees.
Anirudh assisted in this claim arising out of criminal acts committed in a hospital mortuary.
Anirudh is instructed to act for bereaved families and healthcare providers. He has appeared in inquests and pre-inquest review hearings and is well-versed in understanding difficult medical issues which arise in such hearings.
Led by Jonathan Jones KC, Anirudh acts as junior counsel to the inquests. This is an inquest into the death of 62 of Mr. Paterson’s former patients.
Anirudh represented the family of Louise Schilt, who suffered a complication subsequent to a pleural drainage. The coroner recorded a narrative conclusion, in which she identified several missed opportunities by clinicians.
Anirudh is instructed regularly in civil claims involving the police. He acts in all types of claims, including assault, battery, misfeasance and malicious prosecution claims, claims involving a breach of the ECHR (Articles 3 and 8) and data protection claims.
This claim (pleaded at £150,000.00) is ongoing and raised allegations of direct discrimination, breach of the Data Protection Act 1998 and Article 8 of the ECHR against the police.
This claim arose out of an alleged negligence at a firearms training course. It is pleaded at £1,000,000.00.
Anirudh is acting an ongoing claim raising allegations of assault, battery, misfeasance in public office and malicious prosecution against police officers.
Anirudh’s practice embraces the breadth of personal injury. He has been instructed in claims involving physical and sexual abuse, sporting injuries, industrial disease, employers’ liability, road traffic accidents and more. He has dealt with claims involving brain injury, fatal accidents, CRPS, deafness, and industrial poisoning.
Anirudh acted for four siblings who had been abused by their father in the 1960s. The First-Tier Tribunal ruled that limitation should be disapplied due to exceptional circumstances, and they were entitled to compensation.
Led by Sarah Prager KC, Anirudh acted in an occupiers’ liability claim concerning complex regional pain syndrome.
Anirudh is currently acting in a brain injury case arising out of defective premises.
Anirudh has a busy cross-border and travel practice. He previously worked as a stagiaire at the European Court of Justice and is well-versed in retained EU law. Anirudh’s practice spans the breadth of international personal injury. It includes claims against foreign insurers, claims involving the package travel regulations and cross-border clinical negligence.
This claim arose out of accident in accommodation provided by a package tour operator. It resulted in the claimant sustaining lifelong injuries.
Anirudh acted in a French Law claim against a foreign insurer. The claim arose out of an accident in a swimming pool.
Anirudh is acting in an ongoing claim against a Polish clinic alleging negligently performed cosmetic surgery.
Anirudh has a growing practice in the Court of Protection. He has experience with both the personal welfare and property and affairs jurisdiction.
This case concerned the long-term residency of the protected party, and the assessment of capacity.
Anirudh acted for the local authority in a long-running case regarding the healthcare and living arrangements of a vulnerable resident in a care home.
