James Thacker KC and Giles Bedloe concluded the successful prosecution, over six weeks, of a member of an organised crime group charged with the kidnap, false imprisonment, torture, and multiple rapes of a young woman. The victim was held captive for approximately ten hours.

The torture involved the use of weapons including a firearm, a blow torch and bandsaw causing physical injuries from which she took months to recover.
