At a recent ceremony Adam Dawson MBE received his MBE medal from Princess Anne for services to charity and service to the Jewish Community. Adam was awarded an MBE in the King’s Birthday Honours List 2025.

For over 30 years Adam has been involved in the heart of the Jewish community, leading several charities and organisations. After a year as Chair of the Union of Jewish Students, Adam served as Chair of the National Jewish Chaplaincy Board; was a founder and Vice Chair of the London Jewish Forum and sat on both the Board of Deputies and Jewish Leadership Council.

During an intense period in 2010 and 2011, following a year working on a Commission for Jewish Education, Adam led a small team working with the Department of Education to create the countries’ first ‘Free School’ in Mill Hill, London. He went on to serve for nearly a decade as Chair of Governors.
In 2019 Adam joined the Board of Jewish Care. He became Chair of JAMI (mental health charity) the following year and over the last five years has worked to establish a new community wide Child and Young Person’s mental health service; expanding adult counselling services across the community and in 2024 was instrumental in the merger of Jewish Care and JAMI.
A prolific fundraiser, Adam has raised significant funds for numerous charities including the Weston Park Teenage Cancer Centre; Barts London; Etz Chaim Jewish Primary School; Jewish Care and JAMI.
