Deka Crime Every Mountain

This weekend saw 5 members of Deka’s Crime Team take part in the 3 Peaks of Yorkshire.

Whilst those down south basked in unseasonably warm weather, those in the North know that Saturday saw a yellow severe weather warning for heavy rain! Undeterred the team set off, long before dawn into the dark, damp dales of Yorkshire. It was nothing short of madness! As the famous 4 Weddings quote goes: there comes a point when you can’t get any wetter! Poor James Thacker KC’s hefty walking boots even disintegrated, leaving him scrambling over rocks in his socks!  Given the conditions, it was a miracle that even two of three peaks were conquered, when the risk of hypothermia and strong advice from the organisers called a halt to the day’s adventures. We have all sworn to return in the Spring to finish the job off.

Five members of the Deka Chambers crime team take on the Three Peak challenge.

Anybody wishing to donate, we are raising money for two charities closely linked to the Crime Team’s heart:

➡️Diabetes UK, raising funds for research into the condition which took the wonderful Philip Henry from us far too young, and

➡️ Princess Alice Hospice, which did such as fantastic job of looking after Fred Ferguson, another much missed member of the team taken in his prime. Please see the link here and give as generously as you can.
