Claire Harden-Frost prosecuted the couple who were charged with offences against children.
Dean Edmunds was convicted of 28 offences including offences of three offences of rape of a child under 13. In total he sexually abused four children. He also encouraged his wife of ten years to engage in extreme sex acts, which he filmed. He was found to be in possession of thousands of indecent images of children. His wife, Leanne Edmunds was convicted of 6 offences including being in possession of the most serious types of indecent images of children.
When police analysed phones and devices seized from the couple, they found text messages between them talking about abusing children and in which they dubbed themselves “perverts together, forever”.
Dean Edmunds was sentenced to an extended sentence of 26 years comprising of 18 years imprisonment and an additional 8 years on licence. Leanne Edmunds received a 3-year community order.
