Ben Zurawel appointed to Attorney General’s C Panel

News

23/01/2017

The Attorney General, the Rt Hon Jeremy Wright QC MP, has appointed Ben Zurawel (2010) to the C Panel of Junior Counsel to the Crown, with effect from 28th February 2017, for a period of five years.

Members of the Attorney General’s Panels are chosen to provide advice and representation to all government departments and agencies in all aspects of civil law. Competition for the limited places on the panels is fierce.

The Government Legal Department encourages counsel to maintain both a public and private practice, which includes acting against government. Ben will therefore continue to accept private instructions in all areas of his practice; his membership of the Panel will be particularly beneficial to clients with claims against or involving government.

Ben joins fellow Member of Chambers Tom Rainsbury (2010) on the C Panel, whilst Tom Little (1997) is understood to be the first barrister to hold simultaneous appointments to the A Panel and as Junior Treasury Counsel at the Central Criminal Court.
