Mr Justice Wilkie has imposed a whole life sentence on Thomas Mair at the Old Bailey. This means that the 53 year old now has to serve the rest of his life in prison. In accordance with Schedule 21 of the Criminal Justice Act 2003 such sentences are reserved only for murders of the most exceptional seriousness. Tom Little appeared for the Prosecution in this case.
