Twenty five years for cocaine conspirators

James Thacker prosecuted Operation Digamy; a conspiracy to supply 2kg of Cocaine with a potential street value of nearly £250,000 and money laundering in the sum of over £100,0000. The case relied upon police surveillance and telephone analysis.

Following a trial, Aftar Ali was convicted of conspiring with Mizanur Rahman and Abdul Kalam who pleaded guilty prior to trial.

Aftar Ali was sentenced to 14 years’ imprisonment, Mizanur Rahman to 5 years’ detention in a YOI and Abdul Kalam to 6 years’ imprisonment.
